Hello Houseplants was founded by one lifelong plant enthusiast and one complete newbie to plants. Both, through our different journeys, believe in the transformative power of indoor plants.
As female entrepreneurs, we embarked on a journey with a shared vision: to make it easy for everyone to enjoy the benefits of houseplants, regardless of their level of gardening experience.
Starting small, selecting plants from nearby markets and nurseries, we have built our inventory with care.
Each plant has been chosen for its quality and vibrancy, ensuring it would thrive in a new home. This hands-on approach helped us to understand the needs of each plant.
As our team and inventory grew, Hello Houseplants blossomed into a thriving platform. Our love for plants and commitment to quality has led us to offer advice, care tips, creating a supportive community for plant parents.
At Hello Houseplants, sustainability is central to our mission. Committed to minimising our environmental impact and promoting eco-friendly practices from the start. Our key initiatives include sustainable gardening, such as using organic fertilizers and natural pest control. We also focus on reducing waste by encouraging reuse and recycling.
We've minimised packaging and aim to switch to biodegradable, eco-friendly materials to cut plastic use. Our products and packaging prioritise recycled and sustainable materials. Additionally, we use biomass energy to heat and light our plants, reducing fossil fuel reliance and our carbon footprint.

The Calathea Rufibarba has a fascinating behaviour known as nyctinasty, which is the rhythmic movement of plant leaves in response to the onset of darkness. This charming plant shuts its leaves at night in a way that resembles a gentle folding or closing.
My children love the plant’s nightly routine of closing its leaves, its like a little bedtime ritual, making it feel almost alive and interactive.
The velvety texture of the leaves is also irresistible to touch. My children enjoy the tactile experience of feeling the soft, furry leaves, and sharing its interesting facts with visitors.
